England may have qualified for next summer’s European Championships but most of the teams are still battling away to try and make it through to the finals in France. With just two games of the group stage remaining there are sure to be some very exciting matches in both rounds of upcoming games. We’ve gone through the first set of fixtures to bring you three multiples of increasing odds to give you plenty of betting options and hopefully put a bit of money in your back pocket.
Easy Winner – evens (Bet365)
- Hungary to beat Faroe Islands (1/4) – Hungary will allow Northern Ireland to qualify without even beating Greece on Thursday if they fail to beat the Faroe Islands. That is more than enough motivation for them to get the job done professionally.
- England to beat Estonia (2/17) – There is no pressure on England but still the members of Roy Hodgson’s squad will want to put in a strong performance so that they impress enough to be named in the squad for the finals.
- Over 1.5 goals in Scotland v Poland (9/20) – Poland are the top scorers in qualifying and in Robert Lewandowski they have one of the most in form players in the world. They’ll be looking to beat Scotland but will have to put up with some stiff resistance from Gordon Strachan’s team.
Medium Risk – 18/1 (Sky Bet)
- Portugal to beat Denmark (3/4) – Portugal need just to avoid defeat against Denmark to qualify but they will look to win the game and negate any pressure that could build up as the match draws to a conclusion.
- Both teams to score in Ireland v Germany (4/6) – Germany should be able to get a win against Ireland and book their spot at the finals but the Irish are tricky to play in Dublin. Backed by a noisy crowd they should be able to breach the German defences at least once to land this bet.
- Romania to beat Finland (5/6) – Romania have drawn their last three games 0-0 but they must improve on that to get through to the finals. They have a very winnable game against Finland on Thursday, the Finns having only the slimmest of chances of qualifying.
Long Shot – 28/1 (BetVictor)
- Robert Lewandowski to score against Scotland (6/4) – Lewandowski is flying domestically for Bayern Munich and should be able to take that form to the international stage against Scotland. Poland create a huge amount of chances for him and if he gets on the end of them, he’ll score.
- Thomas Muller to score against Ireland (evens) – Thomas Muller is one of Germany’s most important players and at 26 he still has his best years ahead of him. A true ‘fox in the box’, Muller scores important goals and can do just that in Dublin on Thursday.
- Northern Ireland to beat Greece 1-0 (19/4) – Northern Ireland’s game against Greece may result in the home side making the European Championships for the first time in their history but it is not likely to be a classic. The Greeks don’t score many at all and this one could just be settled by a single goal.
