The fixtures are coming thick and fast in the Premier League as the festive frenzy starts to kick in, which gives us plenty of betting opportunities. Here we take a look ahead at the weekend action which features games that could affect things at both ends of the table. As usual we’ve scoured the betting markets to come up with some nice value accumulators that should appeal, whatever your appetite for risk, with an easy winner, a medium risk and a high risk (but potentially very lucrative) long shot too.
Easy Winner – 13/5 (Betfred)
- Chelsea to beat Newcastle (1/2) – Our easy winner is at higher odds than usual this week and starts with Chelsea to continue their brilliant start to the season with a win at Newcastle. They don’t always go well in the North East but with a rested Diego Costa they should prove too good for a Newcastle side that remains short on real class.
- Liverpool to beat Sunderland (1/2) – Liverpool are starting to suggest they might be able to mount a top four challenge after all and they are grinding out the results. At home they look great value here against a Sunderland team with just one win in seven.
- Man City v Everton both teams to score (8/13) – City have managed just one clean sheet at the Etihad and with Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas in fine form BTTS looks like a banker here at very nice odds.
Medium Risk – 7/1 (BetVictor)
- Hull to beat West Brom (29/20) – Hull were impressive against Everton and, against a West Brom side we feel may be relegated this year, odds of 29/20 and home advantage mean the Tigers are too good to ignore.
- QPR to beat Burnley (11/10) – A real relegation six pointer, this game is sure to be close and with both teams improving of late both will feel they can get the win. However, the Hoops’ record on home soil, especially against the sides around them, is pretty good and we think they will nick this one.
- Man City v Everton both teams to score (8/13) – For the reasons listed above this is a nice way to bring home our medium risk acca as it’s a real banker in our eyes.
Long Shot – 125/1 (BetVictor)
- Stoke to beat Arsenal (31/10) – Stoke have been average at home this term but they usually beat at least one of the big boys and we think it could be Arsenal this season.
- Romelu Lukaku to score first versus Man City (8/1) – Lukaku has scored the opener for three games in a row and Everton have started games this term very well before trailing off, making this a great value bet for the riskiest of our accumulators.
- Southampton and Man United to draw (12/5) – The Saints have now lost back to back games but they did reasonably well against Arsenal and at home they should have enough to get a draw against a United side that are far stronger at home than away.
