It may be a bit foreign to our European cousins but the Christmas period in the Premier League is one of the most interesting and exciting parts of the entire season. Players get knackered and injured and there are always upsets throughout. With teams looking to build up as many points as they can before Christmas we are in line for some great matches this coming weekend and we’ve gone through them all to pick out three top multiples to help with your betting.
Easy Winner – 13/8 (BetVictor)
- Chelsea to beat Bournemouth (2/5) – Bournemouth have done well over the past couple of weeks without winning but Chelsea are fighting their way back to form and should win this one with relative comfort.
- Over 1.5 goals in Stoke v Manchester City (1/4) – City have lost Sergio Aguero to injury once again but they’ve got plenty of goals in their squad while Stoke too pose a goal threat to every opposition they face. Two is the minimum number of goals to expect.
- Southampton to beat Aston Villa (1/2) – Southampton are not quite at the levels that they reached last season but they are still a good side and should have much too much for Aston Villa who have a worse points total than Derby did at this stage in the season when they went on to record the lowest tally ever.
Medium Risk – 15/2 (Bet365)
- Under 2.5 goals in Arsenal v Sunderland (27/20) – Sunderland are defending much better since Sam Allardyce took control and they will look again for a safety first approach to the match at the Emirates. Arsenal have been hurt by key injuries and may not be at their rampant best on Saturday.
- Leicester to beat Swansea (8/5) – Leicester don’t look like stopping any time soon whereas Swansea are going backwards from last season. Garry Monk is clinging onto his job but his position could be much less stable after a meeting with Jamie Vardy and co.
- Liverpool to beat Newcastle (3/5) – It does not look good for poor Steve McClaren. He’s been told he’s got the support of the board until relegation starts to look like a genuine possibility. After a very tough game against Liverpool it may start looking like a probability.
Long Shot – 36/1 (Sky Bet)
- West Brom to draw with Tottenham (23/10) – Spurs looked uncharacteristically toothless against Chelsea and Tony Pulis will be licking his lips at the prospect of inflicting a blow on an in-form team. The Baggies will find a win difficult but can claim a point at home.
- Liverpool to beat Newcastle by three or more goals (9/2) – Newcastle are getting worse if anything while Liverpool look like they are ready to cut loose against a team soon. It could be at St James’ on Sunday.
- Everton to beat Crystal Palace (21/20) – Everton know they will face a tough match against Crystal Palace who have shown they are good away from home but the Toffees are on a good run and should get the win.
