This week sees the final week of action in the Champions League group stage. We already know most of the teams who will be competing in the first knockout round but there are still enough sides still to qualify for this to be every bit as exciting as Matchday Five. There is also plenty of competition to finish top of the groups and to make it through to the Europa League via claiming third spot and with many interesting matches, come many betting opportunities. We’ve gone through them all to pick out the three best accumulators for the midweek action below.
Easy Winner – 13/8 (BetVictor)
- Galatasaray to beat Astana (2/5) – Galatasaray are out of the running for the next round but a home win against Astana would guarantee themselves a place in the Europa League which is a big enough prize for them to fight for.
- PSG to beat Shakhtar (4/11) – Shakhtar may be battling for a third place finish but they will find the going very tough against a supremely accomplished PSG team.
- Bayern Munich to beat Dinamo Zagreb (1/4) – Dinamo Zagreb’s race is run but their fans still get a chance to watch perhaps the best team in the world as Bayern come to town. Watch is probably all they’ll be able to do though as the Germans should run away with the match.
Medium Risk – 15/2 (Bet365)
- Wolfsburg to beat Manchester United (11/8) – Manchester United fans will be wondering how their team are in a position where they could not make it out of what looked like a friendly group. They will face a very tough match against Wolfsburg who have won both their home games in the group stage.
- Both teams to score in Gent v Zenit (4/5) – Gent have enjoyed their Champions League adventure and they still have a chance of extending it to the knockout stage. They face a very impressive Zenit team but will give it all they’ve got even though they are likely to concede against higher quality opposition.
- Arsenal to beat Olympiakos (evens) – Arsenal’s night could end one of two ways but Arsene Wenger’s team will fight with all they have to make sure they secure the positive result they desperately need to give themselves a chance of qualification.
Long Shot – 41/1 (Sky Bet)
- Benfica to beat Atletico Madrid (9/5) – Benfica beat Atletico at the Vincente Calderon and they should be fancied to beat the Spaniards again to claim top spot in Group C for their own.
- Valencia to beat Lyon to nil (6/4) – Valencia have been the story of the week what with Gary Neville’s appointment as manager and the Englishman should get a comfortable first win against Lyon who have been appalling and will finish rock bottom whatever happens.
- Borussia Monchengladbach to beat Manchester City (5/1) – Manchester City are through but they cannot afford any complacency against Monchengladbach, who are a very entertaining team and can claim a Europa League spot with a surprise win.
