Top level European action returns this midweek with the first round of fixtures in the quarter finals of the Champions League and Europa League taking place. There are some fantastic teams remaining in the competition and some brilliant two legged ties in prospect. That throws up plenty of betting options and we’ve sifted through them all to bring you three accas of varying risk and reward levels for you below.
Easy Winner – 11/10 (BetVictor)
- Over 1.5 goals in Bayern Munich v Benfica (1/6) – Bayern Munich will not want to give Benfica any wriggle room in this tie as they know how dangerous the Portuguese side can be. The goals should fly in in Germany.
- Over 1.5 goals in Wolfsburg v Real Madrid (1/5) – Wolfsburg have any number of players who can come up with the goods against Real Madrid but they will find it very hard to stop the likes of Ronaldo, Bale and Karim Benzema so this looks like another game in Germany with plenty of goals.
- Dortmund to beat Liverpool (1/2) – Dortmund showed against Tottenham that they are a step above most other teams in this competition and they are heavy favourites for the match against Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to have a happy return to his former club.
Medium Risk – 8/1 (Sky Bet)
- Real Madrid to beat Wolfsburg (8/11) – Real Madrid are only fighting on one front now with little to no chance of domestic success. That is not good news for Wolfsburg who are going to face a fired up Real side.
- Both teams to score in Athletic Bilbao v Sevilla (4/5) – This is a very good tie between one team from the north and one from the south of Spain. Sevilla are favourites to qualify but this could be a very close run thing and both teams should find the net in the first leg.
- Shakhtar Donetsk to beat Braga (19/10) – Shakhtar did very well in the last leg to qualify despite not being at full fitness due to their winter break. With more matches under their belts and legs, the break can now be used as a positive rather than a negative and they can claim a huge away win.
Long Shot – 172/1 (Bet365)
- Manchester City to beat PSG (9/2) – PSG will believe they have what it takes to get through against Man City with relative ease but City at their best are a very different proposition to Chelsea and they have been looking strong in Europe this season.
- Sparta Prague to beat Villarreal (6/1) – Sparta come into this one on the back of three fabulous away matches and 6/1 looks too big a price for the away side to beat Villarreal. It will take a huge performance of course but they look capable of springing another surprise.
- Draw/Benfica double chance against Bayern Munich (7/2) – Benfica are a massive 12/1 to beat Bayern but with Guardiola leaving at the end of the season and some fairly unconvincing performances of late, it is not impossible that Benfica will escape without defeat to land our massive treble.
