It is nearly time for Euro 2016 to get underway. The sense of excitement all through the continent is huge but over on the other side of the Atlantic they’ve beaten us to it. The special centennial edition of the Copa American begins a week before Euro 2016 and that means plenty of high quality betting opportunities. We’ve been through a packed international fixture list to bring you three accas below.
Easy Winner – 6/4 (BetVictor)
- Over 1.5 goals in England v Portugal (4/9) – England have some brilliant attacking options to spark the imagination ahead of the Euros but their defence is a real worry. Portugal should be able to make life uncomfortable in an interesting match at Wembley on Thursday.
- Over 1.5 goals in USA v Colombia (2/5) – The USA will be hoping that their performances really catch the eye of the public in the tournament that they are hosting. Plenty of goals in the first game of the Copa America would be very helpful to that end.
- France to beat Scotland (2/7) – France are the favourites for Euro 2016 which is being held on home turf and they should be able to go into the tournament on the back of a rousing win against Scotland, whose players are just one game away from going on their summer holidays.
Medium Risk – 6/1 (Sky Bet)
- Germany to beat Hungary to nil (21/20) – Germany are the world champions and will be a little miffed not to be the favourites to win Euro 2016. They should be able to show just how strong they are with an easy win over Hungary.
- Both teams to score in Brazil v Ecuador (19/20) – Ecuador will fancy their chances of upsetting the odds against Brazil in their first match of the Copa America. Brazil are not quite at full strength and may have to score more than once to get the win.
- France to beat Scotland to nil (5/6) – Scotland were incredibly disappointing against Italy in their last match, especially in attacking positions. They look set to struggle to score once more against France, who have an embarrassment of riches in terms of attacking talent.
Long Shot – 39/1 (Bet365)
- Marcus Rashford to score against Portugal (21/10) – It didn’t take the Manchester United forward long to score on his full debut for England against Australia but still Rashford’s inclusion in the squad has raised some eyebrows. Hodgson may give him another go against Portugal to prove his decision was wise. If he does, Rashford should be able to rise to the challenge.
- Austria and the Netherlands to draw (11/5) – The Netherlands have been playing a lot of football since failing to qualify for the Euros. Their redemption tour has been so-so and they may flatter to deceive once more against Austria who are no great shakes themselves.
- Kyle Lafferty to score against Slovakia (3/1) – Lafferty did not enjoy a great season but he is relishing the chance to be the main man for Northern Ireland. He scored against Belarus recently and can repeat the trick against Slovakia.
