Family getting on your nerves over the Christmas period? Never mind, you’ve got the traditional Boxing Day football fixtures to enjoy on Saturday. There are some great fixtures in store and with any luck the only turkey in sight will be the Christmas leftovers. To add an extra bit of bang to your Christmas we’ve put together three accumulators with increasing odds to hopefully put some extra money in your back pocket for the January sales.
Easy Winner – 5/6 (BetVictor)
- Manchester City to beat Sunderland (1/5) – After an initial boost Sam Allardyce is finding life tough at Sunderland. The Black Cats know they are in for a massive battle to stay up but they can’t bank on getting anything out of an away match against Manchester City.
- Under 3.5 goals in Aston Villa v West Ham (2/9) – Two teams who are not going through good runs meet at Villa Park. Injuries and a lack of form mean the goals have dried up for both and this could be the worst game of the day.
- Over 1.5 goals in Newcastle v Everton (1/4) – Everton will be looking for the win to bounce back from their defeat against Leicester while Newcastle will be roared on by the St. James’ Park faithful. This should have goals.
Medium Risk – 21/2 (Bet365)
- Stoke and Manchester United to draw (9/4) – Time looks to be running out for Louis van Gaal and although he’ll be desperate to beat Stoke that is much easier said than done. Mark Hughes’ side love a big scalp but this looks a game that is very well matched.
- Everton to beat Newcastle (6/5) – Everton have all the tools and skills necessary to put in another one of their positive away performances to plunge the Toon Army back into despair after recent good results.
- Over 2.5 goals in Liverpool v Leicester (8/13) – Liverpool are sure to have a reaction after their humbling 3-0 defeat against Watford. However, Leicester have absolutely no fear and will play their normal fast, attacking football at Anfield. In a tough game to call goals are almost a certainty.
Long Shot – 31/1 (Sky Bet)
- West Brom to beat Swansea (11/4) – Swansea’s point against West Ham was a decent one but they were let off by the below-par Hammers. West Brom should possess a bigger goal threat and they will be fuming after being beaten by Bournemouth in their last match. Tony Pulis should have a welcome return to Wales.
- Crystal Palace to beat Bournemouth (7/4) – The Cherries may be on a fantastic run just now but they will find Crystal Palace very happy to play the role of party poopers. Alan Pardew’s men are incredibly difficult to beat and they can teach Bournemouth a tough lesson about football in the top flight.
- Chelsea to beat Watford and both teams to score (21/10) – Chelsea annoyed their fans by turning in a good performance against Sunderland after Jose Mourinho was sacked and they should have enough to end Watford’s winning run although we fancy they will have to score more than once to do it.
