We’ve just enjoyed another top quality weekend of domestic action but there is no time to rest at this stage of the season as we head straight back into top level European football. We’ve got the first legs of the Champions League and Europa League semi finals to get our teeth stuck into over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and we’ve created three accas from the four matches to give you plenty of betting opportunities.
Easy Winner – 21/20 (BetVictor)
- Over 1.5 goals in Manchester City v Real Madrid (2/9) – Manchester City will have to be at their very best against Real Madrid and they will need to score to keep themselves to be in with a chance for the second leg at the Bernabeu.
- Under 3.5 goals in Atletico Madrid v Bayern Munich (1/5) – Atletico will be doing all they can to stop Bayern Munich from dominating the ball and scoring so expect a tight first leg match.
- Over 1.5 goals in Villarreal v Liverpool (2/5) – This is match with two entertaining teams who were never really expected to make it through to the Europa League semis. Their styles and approach to the game could make this the most entertaining match of the lot.
Medium Risk – 13/2 (Sky Bet)
- Both teams to score no draw in Villarreal v Liverpool (13/8) – There is going to be plenty of goalmouth action in this one and with the number of chances created it would be no surprise if one of the two sides did enough to record a much welcomed first leg win.
- Shakhtar +1 goal against Sevilla (1/2) – Shakhtar will be hoping to make the most of their winter break to go all the way in the Europa League. Two-time defending champions Sevilla are the best team in the tournament but Shakhtar should be able to win with a one goal head start.
- Manchester City to win a half against Real Madrid (10/11) – City knew that they were never going to get an easy semi final tie and everyone involved with the club will be relishing the match against Real Madrid. The clash could go either way but the home side have enough to at least win a half.
Long Shot – 74/1 (Bet365)
- Atletico Madrid to beat Bayern Munich 1-0 (13/2) – Diego Simeone would love nothing more than a controlled performance ending in a win for his side and a 1-0 Atletico win would be no shock at all from the best defence in world football.
- Shakhtar to beat Sevilla and both teams to score (4/1) – Shakhtar have a much better chance of winning this first leg than the return match in Spain. Sevilla will pose a big attacking threat but the Ukrainian side are capable of outscoring their opponents.
- Liverpool to score in the second half against Villarreal (evens) – Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool do not give up easily and they will push and push to grab an away goal or two in Spain. Their creative attacking players can take advantage of any weary defenders to score in the second half and land our acca.
