It’s been wall to wall football ever since the turn of the New Year and there is yet more action to enjoy spread over Tuesday and Wednesday this week with the FA Cup third round replays. With nothing to be gained from holding back, these matches have a reputation for being end to end and packed with action, so let’s hope for some more entertainment and hopefully a winner or two from the three accas below.
Easy Winner – 5/4 (BetVictor)
- Aston Villa to beat Wycombe (4/11) – Villa are slowly, slowly playing some better football and although it’s almost certainly too late to save themselves from relegation they should continue their decent play and beat Wycombe in the cup.
- Liverpool to beat Exeter (2/7) – Jurgen Klopp should be able to rest the majority of his first team in the cup once again as even a second string Liverpool team should be more than enough to beat Exeter.
- Over 1.5 goals in Portsmouth v Ipswich (3/10) – Both teams will see this as a very good chance to progress to the fourth round and will therefore be on the front foot so two goals is the minimum we should see.
Medium Risk –13/2 (Bet365)
- Bolton to beat Eastleigh (4/5) – Bolton will have been very happy with this draw when they were paired with Eastleigh and although they couldn’t get the win first time around we fancy the financially troubled Trotters should win the replay.
- MK Dons to beat Northampton (evens) – Although the MK Dons are at the wrong end of the Championship table they have some decent players who will relish the chance to get away from the league action and march on to the fourth round by beating Northampton at home.
- Bradford to beat Bury (4/5) – Bradford have really enjoyed their time in the cup competitions over the past couple of seasons and in front of their home fans at Valley Parade they should be able to make it through to the fourth found.
Long Shot – 37/1 (Sky Bet)
- Leicester and Tottenham to draw (12/5) – These two very well matched teams have got to know each other inside out. Both managers will have their teams very well prepared and this could go all the way to penalties if somebody doesn’t step up and make themselves a hero for their side.
- Huddersfield to beat Reading (12/5) – Neither of these two teams have been what you’d call brilliant in the Championship this season but they look very well matched and we should be in for a good game. At 12/5, Huddersfield look a big price to get the win over a team just two places above them in the league.
- West Brom to beat Bristol City to nil (9/4) – Tony Pulis may not have much time to get his team prepared for this game after the weekend but he is one of the most savvy managers around and will do all he can with his players to make sure that they show all their Premier League class and stop Bristol City from even getting a sniff.
