The midweek Premier League action was top class with goals galore, contentious refereeing decisions and big results at both ends of the table. The weekend action may find it hard to live up to the standard of matches we saw on Tuesday and Wednesday but there are still plenty of betting opportunities and the three accas below will give you plenty of excitement no matter how good the football is.
Easy Winner – 8/5 (BetVictor)
- Over 1.5 goals in Bournemouth v Norwich (4/11) – Both sides lost high scoring matches in midweek and will go out on the front foot to claim an important three points at the bottom of the table.
- Manchester City to beat Crystal Palace (2/5) – Palace have lost five of seven games against teams above them so far and with City needing to ensure they don’t lose pace with Arsenal and Leicester above them this should be a home win.
- Over 1.5 goals in Newcastle v West Ham (1/3) – West Ham have been boosted by the return of Dimitri Payet and the little Frenchman will be pulling the strings once again up at St James’ Park. That means Newcastle will have to attack to get something from the game and we should see goals.
Medium Risk – 8/1 (Bet365)
- Chelsea to beat Everton (3/4) – Chelsea can count themselves rather unfortunate to lose to West Brom on Wednesday. The Blues played quite well and were caught out by two very good strikes. Chelsea can secure all three points against an inconsistent Everton team.
- West Ham to beat Newcastle (2/1) – All of a sudden we are over halfway through the season and Newcastle still find themselves in the relegation zone. West Ham meanwhile are fifth having gone eight games unbeaten, so the 2/1 available on the Hammers is surely too big to ignore.
- Southampton to beat West Brom (4/6) – Southampton got a good 2-0 win at home against Watford and there were signs they are coming through their malaise. West Brom put a big shift in at Stamford Bridge and two games on the road could mean their legs are too heavy to resist the Saints.
Long Shot – 131/1 (Sky Bet)
- Sunderland to beat Tottenham (9/1) – 9/1 is a massive price on Sunderland given that Sam Allardyce has secured some huge wins at White Hart Lane in recent years and that the Black Cats are still very much fighting for their Premier League futures. Spurs come off the back of two disappointing results and this could be the third.
- Liverpool and Manchester United to draw (23/10) – This is a fixture which can often disappoint and given the unpredictable nature of both these teams, they could well both leave Anfield a shade upset to only share the spoils.
- Stoke to beat Arsenal (3/1) – Arsenal have some horrible memories of playing at the Britannia but this is surely the best Stoke side that the Gunners have had to face. Mark Hughes’ team have what it takes to add Arsenal to the list of high profile scalps they’ve taken on their own patch this season.
