There is no rest for the wicked in the Premier League. Clubs have come through the busy Christmas period and played their third round FA Cup ties but they have to get ready for yet another round of fixtures spread over Tuesday and Wednesday. The midweek action will mean some special atmospheres under floodlights and with a host of exciting fixtures there are plenty of great betting opportunities. We’ve come up with three accumulators covering the action below, with a good option whatever your approach to risk.
Easy Winner – 10/9 (BetVictor)
- Chelsea to beat West Brom (4/11) – The Blues are looking more like themselves since Jose Mourinho left the club and although West Brom are stubborn, this looks like a home banker.
- Over 1.5 goals in Tottenham v Leicester (1/4) – Having just played each other in the cup these two will know exactly what their best route to goal is so two goals is the minimum to expect.
- Under 3.5 goals in Stoke v Norwich (1/4) – Stoke may have some exciting players but only 15% of matches at the Britannia have had four goals or more. Norwich will view a point as a good result so this should be a tight, low scoring match.
Medium Risk – 6/1 (Bet365)
- Crystal Palace to beat Aston Villa (6/4) – It doesn’t get any easier for Remi Garde and Aston Villa. They are going to have to rally their fans somehow but that won’t be easy against an incredibly stubborn Palace side who will be looking for yet another three points on the road.
- Both teams to score in Liverpool v Arsenal (4/6) – Liverpool cannot sit back against table toppers Arsenal especially given their defensive injury concerns. Jurgen Klopp seems to enjoy these big matches and although Arsenal should be able to score it will be tough to keep out a fired up Liverpool.
- Tottenham to beat Leicester (7/10) – Mauricio Pochettino is doing a good job of convincing everyone that he is not thinking about Spurs winning the league but someone has to win it this year and if they can get another home win against Leicester, who seem to be running out of steam, the biggest prize of the lot will be a step closer.
Long Shot – 50/1 (Sky Bet)
- West Ham to beat Bournemouth (5/2) – There is revenge on the cards when West Ham travel to the south coast to take on Bournemouth. The Cherries won a thrilling match 4-3 when the two teams first met this season but with West Ham returning to form the shoe could be on the other foot this time around.
- Newcastle to beat Manchester United (10/3) – Manchester United may be playing a tad better of late but so are Newcastle, who will be massively up for this one. They’ve got a very good team when playing well and could surprise Louis van Gaal’s men here.
- Stoke and Norwich to draw (12/5) – Neither of these teams will be completely happy with their seasons so far. They’re both doing ok without really reaching the heights they are capable of and this could fizzle out into another disappointing stalemate.
