Four teams have already left the Champions League in the knockout stages and over Tuesday and Wednesday four more are going to fall at this hurdle. Some teams will believe deep down that they are already out due to a poor performance in the first leg while others know that their tie can sway either way. That should guarantee some great entertainment but it definitely guarantees some excellent betting options as we have outlined below with our three Champions League accas.
Easy Winner – 9/10 (BetVictor)
- Atletico Madrid to beat PSV (1/3) – Atletico were held to a 0-0 draw in the first leg but they had to play with 10 men for a significant portion of the match. With a full complement of players and at home they should beat PSV with relative ease.
- Barcelona to beat Arsenal (2/9) – Arsenal know that they are making up the numbers when they travel to Cataluña on Wednesday night. Barcelona could well be the best side in the world and beating them at the Camp Nou is as big a challenge as there is in football.
- Bayern Munich to qualify against Juventus (1/6) – Juventus may be last year’s finalists but Bayern are one of the favourites to lift the Champions League trophy and having scored two away goals in Turin qualification looks a given for Pep Guardiola’s men.
Medium Risk – 11/2 (Sky Bet)
- Both teams to score in Manchester City v Dynamo Kiev (4/5) – City are a hugely ambitious club who see their future at the top of the European game but they are still learning at this level. They should get through against Kiev but it won’t be an entirely stress free night.
- Over 3.5 goals in Barcelona v Arsenal (evens) – Arsenal are almost certainly going out but they can give their travelling fans some cheer by scoring at the Camp Nou. The question is, how many will Barca put past their injury ravaged defence?
- Atletico Madrid to beat PSV to nil (5/6) – Atletico are capable of some brilliant football but they are also savvy in terms of game management. Expect them to win and to limit PSV’s chances to a bare minimum.
Long Shot – 36/1 (Bet365)
- Juventus/draw double chance against Bayern (2/1) – Juventus seem to thrive when they are written off and what better chance to rise to the occasion but a match away to Bayern? Qualification may be beyond them but a positive result on the night is not.
- Atletico Madrid to beat PSV 1-0 (15/4) – It would be no surprise to anyone who has watched Atletico this season to see them go and beat PSV 1-0 on Tuesday night. That is the most common scoreline of all matches at the Vincente Calderon and Diego Simeone would be more than happy with another 1-0 at home.
- Over 1.5 first half goals in Manchester City v Dynamo Kiev (13/8) – There is a chance that City could put this tie to bed early but equally that Dynamo manage to catch the home side off guard. Either way, early goals could be the order of the day.
