How much football can we take? Since before Christmas it seems like there have been two rounds of fixtures virtually every week and that is certainly the case this time around. The midweek fixtures threw up some big results at both ends of the table and undoubtedly there were plenty of punters who profited – as long as they didn’t have the Gunners on their accas! Our job is to help you profit from the weekend and with that aim we’ve put together three accumulators with options no matter how much risk you are happy to take on.
Easy Winner – evens (BetVictor)
- Over 1.5 goals in Manchester City v Leicester (2/11) – This is the most important match of the entire weekend and it takes place first. Both teams know a win would be massive for them so there has to be more than just the one goal at the Etihad.
- Under 3.5 goals in Swansea v Crystal Palace (1/5) – These two are not playing well at all at the moment so this has a real chance of being last on Match of the Day. A bore draw would probably suit both teams.
- Tottenham to beat Watford (4/9) – While Watford have dropped down the table to 10th due to a real slip in form, Spurs have solidified their position in the top four and they now look solid for the Champions League. This should be a home win.
Medium Risk – 6/1 (Sky Bet)
- Both teams to score in Liverpool v Sunderland (evens) – Liverpool are going to have a busy summer changing their squad but until then they’re going to have to struggle through. Sunderland may be on the end of a defeat but they should make the most of any set piece opportunities.
- Arsenal to beat Bournemouth (21/20) – This is a great opportunity for Arsenal to turn their poor form around. The Cherries are playing well but have been found out when trying to win at home against some of the league’s top teams.
- Both teams to score in Stoke v Everton (3/4) – Two sides with pretty poor records of late meet at the Britannia in a match that could go either way. Stoke are tough to beat at home but Everton have a high number of goal threats so back both teams to score – the reverse was 4-3 to Stoke!
Long Shot – 23/1 (Bet365)
- Southampton and West Ham to draw (13/5) – West Ham managed to beat the Saints in the first meeting between these two but the Saints were unlucky not to go into half time in a stronger position than 1-0 up. These are two well matched teams and a draw looks likely.
- Chelsea to beat Manchester United (21/20) – Chelsea have improved markedly since Guus Hiddink took temporary charge of the team. This is perhaps his biggest test yet but they have enough to send the fans home happy from Stamford Bridge.
- Newcastle to beat West Brom to nil (11/5) – Only Aston Villa have scored fewer goals than West Brom this season. Newcastle have shown small glimpses of recovery and they should secure all three points with relative ease against the struggling Baggies.
