There are four FA Cup fourth round replays to enjoy on Tuesday and Wednesday, but very little else in terms of domestic action. So as we try to pick out some winning accumulator bets, we’ve supplemented those with a couple of big games from the continent. So whether you are very risk averse or you don’t mind taking big chances, we’ve got an acca for you.
Easy Winner – Evens (Bet365)
- Man United to beat Cambridge (3/10) – League Two Cambridge United did amazingly well to force a replay with the Red Devils, but we simply cannot imagine they can avoid defeat at the Theatre of Dreams.
- Real Madrid to beat Sevilla (3/10) – Real Madrid have won all but one of their home matches in La Liga this season and given they beat Sevilla 7-3 at the Bernabeu last term, we think there’s only one result to back here.
- Bayern Munich to beat Schalke (1/6) – Bayern are even more impressive at home, having won all their league matches. Schalke simply won’t be able to live with the champions.
Medium Risk – 13/1 (BetVictor)
- Sheffield United v Preston: over 2.5 goals (23/20) – This FA Cup replay should be a classic as two League One sides battle it out for the chance to play Man United (or Cambridge!) in the next round. Expect thrills, spills and plenty of goals!
- Fulham v Sunderland: Under 2.5 goals (20/23) – Neither of these sides are particularly prolific on the goalscoring front, and after the first match between them remained goalless we fancy something similar here, especially as the Black Cats score an average of just 0.82 goals per away game in the league.
- Man United v Cambridge: over 2.5 goals in the first half (13/5) – Louis van Gaal’s men will have been embarrassed to have been held by Cambridge last time so we expect them to come out fighting here and to get themselves well in control by the break. Backing over 2.5 goals in the first half looks decent value.
Long Shot – 56/1 (Bet365)
- Bolton to beat Liverpool (4/1) – Liverpool have started to turn a corner in terms of their form, but we still feel that Neil Lennon’s Bolton can do a job on them in this cup replay. Given that the Reds have been far from convincing for much of the campaign and have been vulnerable to lower league opposition in recent seasons, taking the Trotters to win this match looks a great way to get this Long Shot party started.
- Fulham and Sunderland to draw (12/5) – Neither side is blessed with attacking dynamism at present and with neither manager renowned for their risk-taking approach we can see this one edging slowly – and painfully for the spectators – towards extra time.
- Real Madrid v Sevilla: over 4.5 goals (12/5) – As mentioned above, the corresponding fixture last season ended with an astonishing haul of 10 goals, so backing there to be just half that number looks like a decent option here to – hopefully – bring home a very lucrative Long Shot accumulator.
