This is one of the best weeks of football in the Champions League. It’s the halfway point and the fixtures from Matchday 3 get reversed for Matchday 4. There are grudges to settle and revenge is almost always on the cards. That makes this week a particularly interesting prospect from a betting perspective which is why we’ve put together three different accas drawn from the action, including one cheeky Monday night Premier League tip too.
Easy Winner – 19/10 (Sky Bet)
- Bayern Munich to beat PSV (4/9) – Bayern managed to beat PSV handsomely in their match in Germany and should be able to repeat the trick when they meet on Tuesday night.
- PSG to beat Basel (3/5) – It’s fair to say that PSG haven’t been at their best yet in the Champions League. They’ve struggled in patches of all of their games but they’re still on course to qualify thanks to some individual brilliance. Expect their big stars to do the business once again away to Basel.
- Juventus to beat Lyon (1/4) – Juventus can stroll through to the knockout stage and effectively end Lyon’s hopes on Wednesday. The Old Lady had to dig very deep to beat Lyon in France with 10 men but should be much more comfortable in front of their own fans.
Medium Risk – 13/5 (BetVictor)
- Over 2.5 goals in Borussia Monchengladbach v Celtic (3/5) – Man City’s place in the knockout stage is anything but secured which can open the door for one of Gladbach and Celtic. Their match in Germany should be a real blood and thunder affair.
- Atletico Madrid to beat FK Rostov to nil (8/15) – Atletico Madrid are one of just two teams to have kept a clean sheet in all three of their group stage matches so far. That run does not look like ending against FK Rostov who have really struggled at this level so far.
- Borussia Dortmund to beat Sporting Lisbon and over 2.5 goals (9/10) – Dortmund are making a real good go of what looked to be a tricky group. They currently sit top of Group F above Real Madrid thanks in no small part to scoring 10 goals in three games. Thomas Tuchel’s team should fill their boots once again when they take on Sporting Lisbon.
Long Shot – 104/1 (Bet365)
- Arsenal to beat Ludogorets and both teams to score (8/5) – Arsenal managed to stroll to a fairly comfortable win against Ludogorets at the Emirates but there were a few scares in the early stages for Arsene Wenger’s men. The Gunners should be able to win the reverse fixture but the hosts will believe they’ve got a good chance of at least scoring.
- Tottenham to beat Bayer Leverkusen and both teams to score (11/4) – It took a fantastic performance from Hugo Loris between the sticks for Spurs to emerge with a point against Leverkusen on Matchday 3. Spurs can go one better and win at Wembley on Wednesday but keeping a clean sheet will be very tough.
- Swansea to beat Stoke (13/5) – Swansea have made some slight but very definite improvements since appointing Bob Bradley as their new manager. Bradley is desperate to get his first win in Premier League football and that can come on Monday night when Swansea play Stoke. The Potters have improved their form but their mentality remains fragile. The Swans can capitalise on that by grabbing a huge win at the Bet365 Stadium.
