And then there were eight. The elongated format of Euro 2016 gave it a bit of a bloated feel but this is now proper tournament football. We’ve got four cracking quarter finals in prospect and to help add a bit more excitement to the upcoming four days we’ve put together three accumulators which will hopefully give your betting balance a bit of a boost.
Easy Winner – 7/5 (BetVictor)
- Over 1.5 goals in Wales v Belgium (4/9) – Belgium cut loose against Hungary last time out and Wales will have to score to have any chance of making it through to the semi finals. There should be plenty of goalmouth action in this one.
- Under 1.5 first half goals in Germany v Italy (1/5) – This is a very tough game to call but it will be no surprise if the first half passes by without too much goalmouth action. Expect a tense and nervy first 45 minutes.
- France to beat Iceland (2/5) – France have not quite hit top form as yet but there is no way they will be as bad against Iceland as England were. The game will be no walk in the park but it should end up with a win for the hosts at the Stade de France.
Medium Risk – 19/2 (Sky Bet)
- Poland/draw double chance against Portugal (4/6) – Poland have one of the meanest defences at the Euros which will stand them in good stead against Portugal who have misfired all too often in their four games. This is a very good Poland side who should be able to avoid defeat inside 90 minutes.
- Germany and Italy to draw (2/1) – This is supposed to be one of the weakest Italy teams for a long time but Antonio Conte’s men can no longer be written off. This will be an incredibly tough game for both teams and a draw looks a good price at 2/1.
- Over 2.5 goals in France v Iceland (11/10) – Iceland have taken the world of football by storm and are in a win/win position now. Nobody expected them to make it this far so there really is nothing to lose. Once again, they will plan the best way of scoring and there could be plenty of goals on Sunday.
Long Shot – 95/1 (Bet365)
- Poland to beat Portugal (3/1) – Poland were 50/1 to win Euro 2016 before the tournament started but they are much shorter now. They’re in the easier half of the draw and can progress further still by beating Portugal inside 90 minutes.
- Wales to beat Belgium (5/1) – Belgium looked brilliant against Hungary but they still look a bunch of individuals rather than a team. That could not be further from the case with Wales who have a wonderful team spirit which could spur them on to another brilliant result at huge odds.
- Paul Pogba to score against Iceland (3/1) – France have had a couple of different heroes who have dug them out of a hole in the tournament and Paul Pgoba could be the next player to come up trumps. He nearly scored a couple of times against Ireland and will get more space than the forwards who will be marked within an inch of their lives.
