It’s game week 35 in the Premier League and the season is winding down. There is still an almighty battle going on at the foot of the table but otherwise, the important issues have pretty much all been sorted. Still, there are plenty of fixtures to pique our interest. As ever, we have put together three tempting trebles to make watching Soccer Saturday that little bit more entertaining.
Easy Winner – 1/2 (Sky Bet)
- Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace (4/11) – Chelsea could well get the Premier League engravers working on Sunday if they beat Crystal Palace. We’ve all known for a long time that they will win the title and it’s very unlikely Palace, with limited motivation of their own, will do anything to change that.
- Manchester United to beat West Brom (4/11) – No team from the bottom half of the Premier League has got even a point at Old Trafford this season. With West Brom safe from relegation, there’s nothing to suggest that will change come Saturday evening.
- West Ham v Burnley over 1.5 goals (1/3) – Time is running out for Burnley but this is a game that they could get something out of. West Ham’s players have been talking about improving their fortunes for the run-in so will look to score but they have been letting their opponents score easy goals too often in the past few months.
Medium Risk – 9/2 (BetVictor)
- Tottenham v Manchester City over 2.5 goals (3/5) – This is a game that screams goals. Spurs’ games at White Hart Lane average well over 2.5 goals as do City games away. There also tend to be plenty of goals when they play each other so over 2.5 goals looks a nice easy addition to our acca here.
- Leicester to beat Newcastle (20/21) – Newcastle fans would take some convincing if the players were to argue they haven’t given up for the season already. They’ve been terrible lately and are still not safe from the drop. Leicester, on the other hand, have finally woken up and now have safety in their own hands.
- Southampton to beat Sunderland (evens) – Sunderland have some difficult games coming up before the end of the season. Dick Advocaat has lots of work to do to get them out of the mire and cannot bank on the good feeling from the derby win over Newcastle. The Mackems were humiliated 8-0 by Southampton earlier on in the season but defeat this weekend could ultimately prove to be even more painful.
Long Shot – 76/1 (Bet365)
- Everton to beat Aston Villa (13/8) – Aston Villa may have an FA Cup final to look forward to but they could go to Wembley having been relegated. They’ve improved under Tim Sherwood but not enough to suggest they are certs to stay in the league. They’ve got a very difficult match against an in-form Everton which could see them dragged backwards towards trouble.
- QPR to beat Liverpool (15/2) – Oh Liverpool. Just when it looked as though they could sneak into the Champions League spots they’ve gone through a horrid run of form. With QPR fighting for every point, Brendan Rodgers’ team will have to turn in a performance and who knows whether they’ll be up for it as they limp towards the end of the season.
- Stoke to beat Swansea (5/2) – Stoke have done well the past couple of weeks and can still overtake Swansea to finish in an impressive eighth position. Stoke beat the Swans at home 2-1 earlier on in the year and have the physical qualities to disrupt the home team’s passing game. Mark Hughes’ men also have a decent record on their travels.
