The first wave of international matches played over the course of the Easter weekend cemented a number of outside players in the plans of their managers for the European Championships. With those even further on the fringes getting a chance on Tuesday night there are going to be plenty of players trying their hardest to grab a squad place in the second wave of games. With some top quality matches to enjoy there are hundreds of betting opportunities and we’ve distilled them down to three accas with increasing odds below.
Easy Winner – 3/2 (BetVictor)
- Under 3.5 goals in Germany v Italy (3/7) – Germany will need to shut up shop after shipping three goals against England and with the defensive minded Italians coming to visit, four goals would be a minor miracle.
- Over 1.5 goals in England v the Netherlands (1/3) – You’re probably annoyed with the number of times England fans have been told “don’t get carried away” but that will be tougher with another win over the Dutch. Whatever the result, there should be plenty of goals at Wembley.
- Over 1.5 goals in Portugal v Belgium (4/9) – Portugal were shown on Friday night how important it is to take your chances. Despite dominating for large periods they were beaten by Bulgaria but with Belgium’s attacking prowess they will get punished for any such profligacy so expect goals.
Medium Risk – 13/2 (Sky Bet)
- Sweden to beat the Czech Republic (6/4) – Sweden just about scraped a place in the European Championships through the playoffs but now that they are there they will be looking to make the most of it. They are a good team with some standout players and they should be able to beat the Czech Republic at home.
- Switzerland to beat Bosnia (4/5) – The Swiss are a very well organised team with quality running throughout. They work very well together allowing their more talented players space to try and decide the match. If this one plays out to form, the Swiss should have enough to get the win.
- Norway to beat Finland (6/4) – There won’t be too much excitement around the place as Norway take on Finland. Neither side did enough to make it through to the finals and it is all about rebuilding now to ensure they have a crack at World Cup qualification. As the home side, Norway are favourites and that looks like a fair reading of the match.
Long Shot – 34/1 (Bet365)
- Germany and Italy to draw (5/2) – Both of these two are looking for morale-boosting wins ahead of the Euros, but they will also be keen to avoid defeat and we see this one ending all-square.
- Greece and Iceland to draw (23/10) – These two know that their most important fights are yet to come and with both managers set to try a few fringe options the spoils could be shared.
- Scotland to beat Denmark (2/1) – Scotland are rebuilding somewhat after their failure to qualify but that work has started well. Their 1-0 win over the Czech Republic may not have been easy on the eye but they can improve their performance and win once again against Denmark.
