The Premier League is here once again and as Christmas approaches the games are really coming thick and fast. Picking up the points now can really set a side up for a successful campaign in the New Year but, frankly, all we care about is enhancing our betting profits! As usual, we’ve got three accas, with one at low odds, one at very high odds, and one somewhere in the middle, so there is a football accumulator to suit all levels.
Easy Winner – 13/10 (Sky Bet)
- Manchester United to beat Hull (3/10) – United are gradually improving and, especially at home, they are looking like a side that could claim a top four spot this season. They should have too much for Hull, the Tigers not being an outfit that travels especially well.
- Chelsea to beat Sunderland (4/9) – The Stamford Bridge side continue to set a red hot pace and we don’t feel Sunderland have enough quality or belief to stop them here. Gus Poyet’s men have had some good results against Chelsea in recent seasons but the visitors just have too much momentum and trickery at the moment.
- Liverpool v Stoke: over 1.5 goals (2/9) – Liverpool’s defence continues to be a major problem and they just can’t buy a clean sheet. The Potters are also unusually lax at the back this term and so we feel there could be quite a few goals in this one.
Medium Risk – 7/1 (BetVictor)
- Burnley v Aston Villa: draw at half time (21/20) – Both sides are battling against the spectre of relegation already but they each come into this after decent results last time out. Burnley are favourites to edge it but we think it will be tight and the draw at half time looks good value.
- Swansea v Crystal Palace: both teams to score (20/23) – Both managers like their sides to attack and both have been scoring freely in recent weeks. Palace will be buoyed by their 3-1 win over Liverpool last time out whilst Swansea did well despite losing 2-1 at Man City. This one should be an entertaining clash with goals aplenty.
- Tottenham v Everton: second half to have most goals (11/10) – Both sides have a habit of scoring late on, with Spurs regularly coming from behind to snatch the points of late, whilst Everton’s never-say-die attitude means they are a threat for the full 90 minutes. As such, backing there to be more goals in the second 45 looks a great bet at odds the right side of evens.
Long Shot – 64/1 (BetVictor)
- West Brom to beat Arsenal (7/2) – Arsenal are poor this season and continue to look very weak at the back. They are also decidedly average on the road and so backing the home team to nick a famous win looks worth a punt at big odds here.
- QPR to beat Leicester to nil (31/10) – Rangers are improving whilst Leicester are going the other way and the Hoops’ record at home and against their main relegation rivals is pretty good. Given Leicester are really struggling to score at the moment, the home win to nil looks a very nice addition to our death-or-glory acca.
- Tottenham and Everton to draw (5/2) – These sides are very evenly matched and tend to produce very close games. With both having played in the Europa League prior to this one, fatigue could be an issue and both may feel a draw is not such a bad result against rivals to sneak into the top four come May.
