The Premier League table has very much taken shape by this stage of the season. It’s going to take a sustained run of form for teams to considerably change their position but few of those towards the foot of the table look capable of turning things around right now. Still, there are always shocks in the top flight which is why we’ve put together three different trebles of increasing odds to give you choice for this weekend’s betting.
Short Price – 9/10 (Betfred)
- Over 1.5 goals in Liverpool v Chelsea (1/4) – Saturday’s late kick off is the game of the weekend. Some of Chelsea’s best players are starting to click from an attacking perspective while Liverpool are full of goals so expect an entertaining encounter at Anfield.
- Tottenham to beat West Brom (2/7) – West Brom’s season needs a reboot which is why Tony Pulis was sacked. The turnaround in the Baggies’ fortunes, however, is unlikely to start against Tottenham at Wembley.
- Man City to beat Huddersfield (2/11) – Who will be the first Premier League side to beat Man City this season? Surely it won’t be Huddersfield who are right up against it when Pep Guardiola’s side visit the John Smith’s Stadium.
Medium Risk – 19/2 (Coral)
- Both teams to score in West Ham v Leicester (8/11) – West Ham were just as bad in David Moyes’ first game in charge as they were under Slaven Bilic. The Irons should be able to score against Leicester at home but their propensity to throw away goals isn’t going to end any time soon.
- Bournemouth to score two or more goals against Swansea (7/4) – Paul Clement made an instant impact at Swansea largely by organising the team and making them tactically competent. Unfortunately, that early promise has faded badly. With Bournemouth improving almost every week, the Cherries should be able to take advantage of Swansea’s porous defence.
- Over 2.5 goals in Southampton v Everton (5/4) – Southampton have to start impressing their fans soon or else St Mary’s will become a tough place for the Saints to play. Everton, while far from their best, will look to take advantage of Southampton’s problems by scoring two or three on Sunday.
Long Shot – 79/1 (Betfair)
- Crystal Palace to beat Stoke and both teams to score (7/2) – Crystal Palace are still shipping goals too regularly even after weeks with Roy Hodgson organising their defence. Stoke should be able to break the Palace resistance on Saturday but if the Eagles start taking their chances they’ll come through an entertaining game with three points.
- Chelsea to beat Liverpool and over 2.5 goals (15/4) – The combination of Alvaro Morata, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas is working very nicely for Chelsea at the moment. They should be able to carve through Liverpool’s defence enough for the win at Anfield even if the home side are good for a goal or two of their own.
- Man City -3 goals against Huddersfield (11/4) – Huddersfield have taken to life in the Premier League impressively but could be in for a humbling afternoon when Man City visit. This could be another very big win for the league leaders.
