It may only be the start of the season but there are games this week that will go a long way to defining teams’ seasons. It’s the second legs of the playoff round of qualifying for both the Champions League and Europa League and to capitalise on the betting opportunities that presents, we’ve put together three trebles of increasing odds for you to choose from.
Easy Winner – 4/5 (Betfred)
- Over 1.5 goals in Nice v Napoli (2/11) – Napoli were strong in their first leg 2-0 win over Nice. However, the French side will be doing all they can to book their place in the Champions League proper so expect plenty of chances in an entertaining game.
- Fenerbahce to beat Vadar (2/11) – Fenerbahce went into their first leg against Vadar believing they’d pick up a win. They ended up losing 2-0 but will surely turn things around in the return leg.
- RB Salzburg v Viitroul (2/11) – Red Bull Salzburg got the all-important away win against Viitroul. They’ve got one foot in the Europa League proper and are racing certainties to finish the job off at home on Thursday.
Medium Risk – 15/2 (Betfair)
- Sevilla to beat Istanbul Basaksehir (4/9) – Sevilla knew they were in for a tough game away in Turkey but they used all of their European experience to escape with a 2-1 victory. They now have to complete the job with a win in the south of Spain.
- Nice to beat Napoli (3/1) – Napoli looked very good in their first leg win over Nice but the French side are no mugs. They’ve got more than enough about them to breathe life back into this tie with a win at home.
- Liverpool to beat Hoffenheim (1/2) – Liverpool and Hoffenheim served up a thoroughly entertaining game in Germany and we can expect more of the same at Anfield. Hoffenheim will take the game to Liverpool but Jurgen Klopp’s side should be able to utilise their home advantage to win and book their place in the Champions League group stage.
Long Shot – 33/1 (Bet365)
- Sevilla to beat Istanbul Basaksehir to nil (6/4) – Not only did Sevilla grab two important away goals in the first leg but they look to have beaten the fight out of Istanbul Basaksehir. The Spanish side are set for a comfortable evening at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
- Liverpool to beat Hoffenheim and both teams to score (15/8) – Hoffenheim were upset not to take more of their chances against Liverpool. The Germans know that they have to be much more clinical at Anfield and they should be able to score to make the game even if Liverpool should win the game.
- Sporting Lisbon to beat FCSB and both teams to score (15/4) – Steaua Bucharest fought very hard for their goalless draw in Portugal. The second leg should have much more entertainment. The Romanian’s will look to be on the front foot at home but Sporting Lisbon have the fire power to come through a game in which there will be chances for both teams.
