This midweek our acca tips are slightly different to usual in that we’re drawing our tips from a range of competitions, including the League Cup semi finals and the African Cup of Nations. However, as usual, we’ll be serving up three football accumulators with a spread of odds to suit all tastes. Last midweek we got seven of our nine tips spot on and landed two accas, so here’s to another profitable round of betting!
Easy Winner – 7/5 (Bet365)
- Ivory Coast to beat Guinea (8/15) – Ivory Coast don’t always perform as well as they should at the African Cup of Nations but we have little doubt they will get the better of Guinea here.
- Spurs v Sheffield United over 1.5 goals (2/9) – Sheffield United have a great cup record under Nigel Clough and they simply won’t lie down, whoever the oppoents. They score a lot of goals on the road and this one could be a thriller.
- Liverpool v Chelsea over 1.5 goals (2/7) – Liverpool will know this is their best chance of silverware, whilst Chelsea will see it as the first step of a quadruple and given we feel the Reds will go for it we predict plenty of goals.
Medium Risk – 10/1 (Bet365)
- Ivory Coast to beat Guinea (8/15) – The Ivory Coast are huge at 8/15 and so the tip makes both our first two accas as a nice easy way to get the ball rolling. They have too much pace, power, experience and technical ability and should win this one with room to spare.
- Cameroon to beat Mali (21/20) – Mali will feel they can give Cameroon a real game but overall we see only one winner, such is the class that Cameroon have throughout their entire squad.
- Leeds and Bournemouth to draw (12/5) – Prior to the weekend games the away side are 23 points clear of their more illustrious hosts and they also boast the best away record in the Championship and the best away form, with five wins and a draw in their last six. However, Leeds remain hard to beat at home and despite sitting 21st have the 14th best home record and we think they can nick a draw here.
Long Shot – 91/1 (BetVictor)
- Cameroon to beat Mali to nil (2/1) – Cameroon’s defence was brilliant in qualifying for the AFCON and they conceded just one goal in their six games. That came in a 4-1 win over Ivory Coast and they should be able to earn a win with a clean sheet and get our acca off to a nice start.
- Tottenham to beat Sheffield United 2-1 (8/1) – This is the longshot of our accumulator which really gets the odds looking tasty. It is an outsider but we think the Blades will push Spurs close.
- Liverpool to beat Chelsea (12/5) – Both sides have relatively easy FA Cup games following this one so we could see both fielding strong XIs which would seem to favour Chelsea. However, this game will mean a lot more to the Reds and in front of the Anfield faithful we fancy an upset.
