The FA Cup fourth round is here and there are some interesting ties lined up, with no really huge all-Premier League games meaning there are plenty of chances for upsets and lots of David versus Goliath clashes as the lower league sides try to make their own bit of history.
We landed our Easy Winner acca yet again last weekend as our over 1.5 goals treble brought home the goods at 9/10 and after getting our first five tips right last weekend we’re in bullish mood. Read on for the usual three football acca betting tips as we seek three FA Cup trebles to put a smile on your face.
Easy Winner – 6/4 (BetVictor)
- Man United to beat Cambridge (1/5) – Man United should have no problem dispatching Cambridge, even if they did draw 1-1 on their last visit (in the League Cup in 1991). Louis van Gaal may rest some players but even so, his men will prove far too strong on Friday night and are to get our acca rolling.
- Derby to beat Chesterfield (3/5) – Derby are currently third in the Championship, despite losing last time out to bitter rivals Forest. Their form has been very good of late (that defeat aside) and 3/5 is a huge price for them to beat League One Chesterfield, who lost 3-1 to Swindon in their last match.
- Liverpool to beat Bolton (2/7) – The Reds are finding their form and, according to Brendan Rodgers, their “identity” too. Bolton have improved of late but they are much better at home and the Anfield crowd will see the Premier League soundly through to the next round – and land our first accumulator of the weekend.
Medium Risk – 15/2 (Betfred)
- Sunderland to beat Fulham (4/6) – Sunderland aren’t in top form but have shown some signs of improvement and at home have to be backed against Championship Fulham.
- Tottenham to beat Leicester (3/5) – Leicester need to focus on the league and so home advantage and a much deeper squad, as well as better confidence, should see Spurs home with room to spare.
- Bournemouth to beat Aston Villa (11/5) – This one could feature in our Long Shot acca but is a nice way to up the odds here, with Championship leaders Bournemouth offering brilliant value to win against a woeful Villa side who whose only win in the last eight was a 1-0 win over the second tier’s bottom side, Blackpool.
Long Shot – 89/1 (Bet365)
- Birmingham to beat West Brom (11/4) – Birmingham are in excellent shape at the moment with seven wins in their last 10 in all competitions. The Baggies have improved with Tony Pulis at the helm but he has a history of heavy rotation for cup games when his side is fighting for survival and the home win is outstanding value here.
- Man City to draw with Middlesbrough (5/1) – This is a real long shot but with City wobbling of late and Boro going along nicely we think the visitors may get something from the game.
- Southampton to draw with Crystal Palace (3/1) – The Saints haven’t impressed in the cups and Palace can get a draw here with their confidence high after some excellent results under new boss Alan Pardew.
