It’s all about cup football this week. The Champions League and Europa League returned in midweek and the FA Cup rumbles on with the fifth round this weekend. The action is spread from early on Saturday afternoon to Monday evening and there are a decent number of betting opportunities presented. Below are our pick of the three best accas for the FA Cup weekend.
Easy Winner – 7/4 (BetVictor)
- Arsenal to beat Hull (13/20) – 13/20 looks a very big price for Arsenal to knock Hull out of the FA Cup for the third year in a row. The Tigers are going well in the Championship which will surely be their priority.
- Over 1.5 goals in Bournemouth v Everton (2/7) – Both Bournemouth and Everton will believe that they have a good chance of making it through to the sixth round and both should be in amongst the goals on Saturday afternoon.
- Over 1.5 goals in Chelsea v Manchester City (2/7) – Chelsea will be looking to take advantage of a weakened City team while those who make the starting 11 for the visitors will want to catch the eye of Manuel Pellegrini to force a way into the team for the upcoming title run in.
Medium Risk – 15/1 (Sky Bet)
- Under 2.5 goals in Reading v West Brom (8/13) – West Brom fans are not exactly delighted with the way that their team are playing under Tony Pulis. The safety first approach is grating a little but they may have to put up with another drab affair away to Championship side Reading.
- Both teams to score in Watford v Leeds (5/6) – Watford are the rightful favourites for this match but Leeds are going along fairly well under Steve Evans and will be well up for the chance to show a Premier League side that they can compete at a higher level.
- Under 2.5 goals in Tottenham v Crystal Palace (4/5) – While Tottenham fans are deliriously happy with their lot at the moment, Palace fans are concerned with the direction of their club. Alan Pardew’s side will look to dig in and defend in a tough cup tie and this could be settled by a single goal.
Long Shot – 140/1 (Bet365)
- West Ham to beat Blackburn and both teams to score (4/1) – Blackburn will enjoy the break from their stalling Championship season and have enough to make things tough for the Irons even though the away side should progress.
- Manchester United to beat Shrewsbury and both teams to score (2/1) – Louis van Gaal’s side should win this and are heavily odds on to do so but they have been slack before and the Shrews could send their fans wild with a goal.
- Chelsea to beat Manchester City and both teams to score (3/1) – A second string Manchester City side are going to give it their all as the FA Cup offers a realistic chance of more success and could break the Chelsea resistance but the Blues are playing well of late and should progress in a thrilling game.
