We are still in the early stages of the Premier League but we’ve already seen the first manager lose his job and there is work to do for other bosses if they are to avoid the same fate as Frank de Boer. With some more eye catching games to enjoy this weekend, we’ve gone through the fixtures to create three trebles of increasing odds. So, have a read through and pick the accas which catch your attention.
Easy Winner – 10/9 (Betfair)
- Man City to beat Watford (4/11) – Man City took full advantage of a poor Liverpool performance to win 5-0 last weekend. Pep Guardiola’s side must now kick on to strengthen their position as the bookies’ favourites to win the title and that means becoming the first Premier League side to beat Watford this season.
- Liverpool to beat Burnley (2/7) – Liverpool dropped too many points from games which they should have won last season. They need to put that right this time around starting with Burnley’s visit to Anfield on Saturday.
- Tottenham to beat Swansea (2/9) – Spurs need to quickly secure their first home win of the season. They will be very disappointed if that doesn’t come against Swansea on Sunday afternoon.
Medium Risk – 11/1 (Bet365)
- Bournemouth and Brighton to draw (11/5) – Bournemouth will look at a home match against newly promoted Brighton as a must win game. Things may not go according to plan. Brighton are in good shape after their first win of the season and they can secure a point in this south coast derby.
- Under 2.5 goals in Crystal Palace v Southampton (8/13) – Roy Hodgson’s first job at Crystal Palace is to shore up their defence. That shouldn’t be too much trouble against a Southampton team who have only scored one goal from open play this so far. If you’re looking for an entertaining game this weekend, it may be worth looking somewhere other than Selhurst Park.
- Over 2.5 goals in West Brom v West Ham (5/4) – West Ham finally picked up their first win of the season but doubling up will not be easy against Tony Pulis’ in-form West Brom side. The Baggies tore into the Irons last time they met at the Hawthorns and we could be in for another high scoring game on Saturday.
Long Shot – 29/1 (Coral)
- Crystal Palace to beat Southampton to nil (15/4) – If Crystal Palace are able to beat Southampton they won’t be the first team to get off to a flying start for a new manager. Roy Hodgson will make the Eagles much tougher to beat than they were under Frank de Boer and they could secure a very important win to nil in front of their home fans.
- Man City to beat Watford and both teams to score (13/8) – Watford won’t be scared by the prospect of facing Man City. The Hornets are playing some very good football under Marco Silva and they should score against City. Whether they can avoid defeat is another matter entirely.
- Chelsea to beat Arsenal and over 2.5 goals (7/5) – Chelsea put Arsenal to the sword at Stamford Bridge last season and there is nothing to suggest that they cannot put several goals past the Gunners once again.
