Euro 2016 has got off to a good start, on the pitch at least. There were some very good matches amongst the opening round of fixtures although, some teams already find themselves with a lot of work to do. Nobody has yet been eliminated but Wednesday and Thursday will see huge matches for some of the more fancied teams. To cover the midweek action we’ve put together three accumulators to help you land some profit at the bookies.
Easy Winner – 6/5 (BetVictor)
- Over 1.5 goals in Germany v Poland (2/9) – Germany and Poland served up some brilliant matches in qualifying and could provide us with one of the best matches of the group stage here. Two goals looks to be the minimum number to expect.
- Romania/draw double chance against Switzerland (4/7) – Switzerland are the favourites for their match against Romania but the Romania’s showed enough about them in their first game against France to suggest that they can avoid defeat against an average Swiss side.
- Ukraine/draw double chance against Northern Ireland (1/8) – Ukraine played fairly well against Germany in their first match but came up against an incredibly professional outfit. Northern Ireland really struggled to get going against Poland and Ukraine should avoid defeat fairly comfortable.
Medium Risk – 4/1 (Sky Bet)
- Both teams to score in England v Wales (evens) – Wales will be more up for this game than almost any in their history and with England’s slightly dodgy defence we should be looking for both teams to score.
- Germany to beat Poland (4/7) – Poland huffed and puffed against Northern Ireland before getting the win but this Germany side are a completely different proposition. They looked like a team with the ability to go all the way against Ukraine and Joachim Low’s men should get the win.
- France -1 goal against Albania (8/13) – France are overwhelming favourites to beat Albania in their second match and the Albanians didn’t show much in their first game that will worry Didier Deschamps. France should win comfortably so bet on them with a one goal handicap.
Long Shot – 13/1 (Bet365)
- Olivier Giroud to score against Albania (11/10) – Giroud is set to continue his role as the main striker for France and he should be able to bag a goal against Albania. Giroud is full of confidence after notching on Friday night and with a whole host of creative players behind him he could top the goalscoring charts at the end of the tournament.
- Wales to win a half against England (2/1) – Wales showed in their qualifying campaign that they enjoy playing as the underdogs and they are going to make life difficult for England. A win may be out of the equation but they are certainly able to win either half.
- Ukraine to beat Northern Ireland to nil (6/5) – Steven Davis suggested after Northern Ireland’s game against Poland that they simply were not good enough and it is hard to see them improving enough for anything other than a Ukraine win. Michael O’Neill’s men are particularly poor in attacking positions so Ukraine may be largely untroubled.
