All of a sudden pundits are starting to talk about the run-in to the season. We’ve gone from the last days of summer when the season was full of optimism, past the hectic Christmas period and boom, here we are, wondering where the time went and how high up the league our teams can finish. With another jam-packed weekend of Premier League action we’ve picked out our three best accas to try and find some profit from the madness. We begin with an over 1.5 goals treble.
Easy Winner – Evens (BetVictor)
- Arsenal v West Ham over 1.5 goals (1/5) – 93% of all Arsenal games and 82% of West Ham games this season have included two goals or more. There is nothing to suggest that this game will prove any different.
- Burnley v Manchester City over 1.5 goals (1/5) – Burnley will struggle to stop City from scoring so they need a good performance from Danny Ings and those players supporting him. This one is another that is certain to have more than two goals after the reverse fixture ended 2-2.
- Leicester v Hull over 1.5 goals (4/9) – Leicester are fighting for their survival and need to start picking up wins in front of their own fans if they are going to have any chance. Hull are by no means clear and will have circled this one as a game to win to put some distance between them and the bottom three.
Medium Risk – (4/1)(Coral)
- Manchester City to beat Burnley (4/9) – City need to keep winning to have a chance of catching Chelsea. Revenge is very much on the cards given City dropped two points in the home game against Burnley. Sean Dyche’s men will be up for the fight but they know there are more important, winnable games in their future.
- Manchester United v Tottenham both teams to score (4/6) – Spurs are good at scoring away from home but their defence can be decidedly shaky. Louis van Gaal needs to get his team over their FA Cup exit if they are going to stay on track for a Champions League place so both teams should net in this one at solid odds.
- Liverpool to beat Swansea (evens) – Liverpool are the most in-form team in the Premier League and they come up against a Swansea side whose form is up-and-down. Liverpool arguably have more to play for as Swansea will finish mid-table but Liverpool are pushing for the top four.
Long Shot – 60/1 (Bet365)
- Hull to beat Leicester (5/2) – Both of Hull’s away wins have come against teams below them in the league and Leicester have lost five of their last six games. This is not the best team that Steve Bruce has managed but he has the nous to record an important victory.
- Sunderland and Aston Villa to draw 1-1 (11/2) – These are two teams fighting it out for their Premier League survival and on paper they are well matched. Tim Sherwood’s appointment has seen a revival in Villa’s form somewhat but they may just come up short against Gus Poyet’s side.
- Manchester United v Tottenham over 3.5 goals (7/4) – Excluding the nil-nil draw between these two earlier on the season the past five meetings between these two have averaged 3.6 goals. This game could well end up the same and if it does our 50/1 accumulator will be in the bag!
