The Premier League took a short break over the last week as qualifying for the World Cup took centre stage. Some struggling clubs were very glad of the break but there is no more time to hide as domestic football swings back into gear. With some very big games ahead of us, we’ve gone through the fixtures to put together three trebles of increasing odds to satisfy your weekend punting.
Easy Winner – 5/4 (BetVictor)
- Both teams to score in Man City v Liverpool (2/5) – The first game of the weekend is arguably the biggest. These two title rivals will be looking to prove their credentials with a win so expect changes and goals for both sides.
- Chelsea/draw double chance against Leicester (1/5) – After a shocking defeat to Burnley, Chelsea have got going again under Antonio Conte. Leicester are a good side but the Blues should be able to at least escape the King Power Stadium without defeat.
- Under 3.5 goals in Southampton v Watford (1/3) – It’s been a decent start to the season for both Southampton and Watford without either side really hitting their stride. Their meeting is set to be a tight game in which the defences should have the upper hand over the forwards.
Medium Risk – 17/1 (Ladbrokes)
- Both teams to score in Everton v Tottenham (3/4) – Everton’s game against Tottenham could be one of the most compelling games of the weekend. Everton will be targeting Spurs as they look to break into the top six but this is a game in which neither side will be able to dominate.
- Man United to beat Stoke to nil (7/5) – Jose Mourinho could not have hoped for a stronger start to the season. Man United are flying and they should record their fourth win to nil at the Bet365 Stadium.
- Huddersfield to beat West Ham (10/3) – An organised, confident, underrated Huddersfield team are the worst possible opponents for West Ham. The Irons have been nothing short of shambolic and things may be about to get a whole lot worse for Slaven Bilic.
Long Shot – 82/1 (Bet365)
- Man City to beat Liverpool and both teams to score (2/1) – With such a vast array of attacking players on the pitch, there should be goals galore when Man City face Liverpool. Both sides are looking good but Man City’s strong home form tips the balance in their favour.
- Watford to beat Southampton (17/4) – Watford’s form collapsed last season but they are looking like a different team under Marco Silva. The Hornets are well organised and have quality in attacking positions so they could secure a win against the odds at St Mary’s.
- Arsenal and Bournemouth to draw (17/4) – Things are not getting any better for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger. Players have jumped at the chance to leave the club while the board have found it very tough to sign quality replacements. Bournemouth have not yet got up to full speed but Arsenal are in such poor shape that any organised opposition has a chance of getting something against them.
