Matchday Three in the Champions League was incredibly entertaining and luckily we are treated with the same fixtures reversed on Matchday Four. There are some major European teams who really need to pick up maximum points this midweek to ensure they don’t miss out on the knockout stages of the competition so expect plenty of twist, turns and goals. To make the most of these matches we’ve put together three accumulators of varying risk for you to use below.
Easy Winner – 5/4 (Bet365)
- Atletico Madrid to beat FC Astana (1/4) – Atletico cruised to victory against Astana last time out and even though they’ll have to put up with the long flight they should be able to win just as comfortably again.
- Man Utd to beat CSKA (9/20) – United couldn’t get the win against CSKA when they travelled to Russia but things should turn out differently at Old Trafford. They’re not in top form but have more than enough to take another step towards the knockout stage.
- Over 1.5 goals in Gent v Valencia (1/4) – Valencia could secure qualification with a win on Wednesday but Gent are one of the competition’s great triers and they’ll be giving it their all again to win at home.
Medium Risk – 13/2 (Sky Bet)
- Real Madrid to beat PSV (8/13) – The first game between these two didn’t catch fire as many people hoped and surprisingly ended 0-0 but in the Bernabeu the Galacticos should give their group rivals a bloody nose.
- Benfica to beat Galatasaray (8/13) – Benfica have a chance for revenge against Galatasaray who beat them in Matchday Three. The Portuguese side need to win to keep pace with Atletico who have a very winnable game of their own.
- Zenit to beat Lyon (2/1) – Lyon are nowhere near their best form at the moment and they sit bottom of Group H. Zenit meanwhile have won three from three and are in rude health. They’ll travel to France full of confidence and 2/1 looks a huge price.
Long Shot – 188/1 (BetVictor)
- Arsenal to beat Bayern Munich (13/2) – This will be a massive ask for Arsenal but they need to get a win here otherwise they’ll have to rely on other results to qualify due to their poor start. Bayern are one of the best in the business but nobody expected Arsenal to win the first game between them so anything could happen.
- Malmo to beat Shakhtar (8/1) – Malmo have loved their Champions League experience this season and they are playing a Shakhtar side who are pointless so far. It’ll be a tough game but the home side can certainly mess this up.
- Chelsea to beat Dynamo to nil (9/5) – Dynamo couldn’t muster a goal against Chelsea at home and they’ll find it even more difficult at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are in desperate need of a comfortable win and this looks likely on Wednesday night.
