The Premier League is about to take a break for World Cup qualifying but before we turn our attention to the hopes of the home nations, we’ve got some excellent matches in prospect ahead of us. With home bankers and the potential for some surprise results, we’ve put together three different multiples to keep your betting covered this weekend.
Easy Winner – evens (BetVictor)
- Tottenham to beat Huddersfield (2/5) – Tottenham continue to make the most of their games away from Wembley Stadium. They beat both West Ham and APOEL Nicosia over the last week and should win again when they take on Huddersfield in the first match of the weekend.
- Man Utd to beat Crystal Palace (1/6) – Crystal Palace could be forgiven for looking at their game at Old Trafford as little more than a training exercise. They’re not going to beat Man Utd and will simply be looking for a more resolute defensive performance.
- Arsenal to beat Brighton (1/4) – Brighton need to maximise their home form if they are to avoid relegation. They’re yet to win away from home and that’s unlikely to change at the Emirates on Sunday.
Medium Risk – 17/1 (Ladbrokes)
- Bournemouth to beat Leicester (17/10) – Leicester remain a very good side so their poor start to the season has been a surprise. The fingers will start to be pointed at Craig Shakespeare if they lose again but they may well do against a Bournemouth side who are starting to find their mojo.
- Both teams to score in Chelsea v Man City (4/7) – This is the game of the weekend as both Chelsea and Man City look to prove themselves against a title rival. If either side want to avoid defeat they’ll have to score given the quality of their opponent’s attacking threat.
- Draw/Everton in half time/full time against Burnley (16/5) – Burnley will fancy their chances of frustrating Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday. The home side will be tired after Thursday’s Europa League action and while Burnley will take some breaking down, Everton should secure the win.
Long Shot – 74/1 (Bet365)
- Southampton to beat Stoke and under 2.5 goals (4/1) – Neither Stoke nor Southampton are in great shape at the moment. They’ve both got problems scoring goals but it’s Stoke’s injury crisis in defence that could prove to be the decisive factor at the Bet365 Stadium.
- West Ham to beat Swansea to nil (2/1) – Slaven Bilic has a knack of pulling off a big result when his back is up against the wall. The West Ham manager needs to repeat the trick against Swansea. The Swans will not be easy to break down but West Ham should secure the win they need at the London Stadium.
- Newcastle to beat Liverpool (4/1) – Liverpool were held to a draw against Spartak Moscow and may struggle again when they take on Newcastle. The Magpies have just the combination of defensive solidity and acumen from set pieces that combine to be Liverpool’s kryptonite and so 4/1 looks far too big a price about the home side.
