The Premier League returns this weekend after taking a week off for the FA Cup. For some teams that means a chance to build on some hard earned momentum, for others it’s about doing whatever it takes to pick up points and pull away from the relegation zone. There are matches with firm favourites and others with tempting outsiders so we’ve put together three trebles of increasing odds for your weekend football betting.
Short Price – 5/6 (Betfred)
- Liverpool to beat West Ham (2/9) – Liverpool are yet to lose a league game at Anfield this season. While they’ve drawn too many home matches, they should have too much for a West Ham side who have lost half of their away games.
- Watford/draw double chance against Everton (3/10) – Everton have struggled on the road for some time. Their away record has not improved under Sam Allardyce and the Toffees will do very well to avoid defeat against Watford who are starting to find their feet again.
- Under 3.5 goals in Burnley v Southampton (2/13) – Only one team has scored fewer goals than Burnley this season. That shows you just how well drilled Sean Dyche’s men are. They’ll make life incredibly tough for relegation threatened Southampton so don’t expect this to be first up on Match of the Day.
Medium Risk – 7/1 (Ladbrokes)
- Leicester to beat Stoke (7/10) – Leicester are going along nicely under Claude Puel. While they are comfortably in eighth, Stoke are in huge trouble. Motivation may be Puel’s biggest challenge going forwards but they should still have enough about them to see off the sorry Potters at home.
- Both teams to score in Brighton v Swansea (23/20) – Swansea are really feeling the new manager bounce. Carlos Carvalhal has breathed new life into the club and the players will fancy their chances of a big win at the Amex Stadium. Brighton, however, are also turning things around so this really could go either way.
- Both teams to score in West Brom v Huddersfield (6/5) – Could anything more go wrong at West Brom? With suggestions that Alan Pardew is already fighting for his job, expect the Baggies to come out fighting. However, they remain a poor side at this level and Huddersfield should be able to get at least a goal out of Saturday’s match.
Long Shot – 85/1 (Betfair)
- Bournemouth and Newcastle to draw and both teams to score (7/2) – Eddie Howe fell foul of the manager of the month curse last time out. The Cherries need to bounce back from their disappointing defeat at Huddersfield but Newcastle are much improved recently so the spoils could be shared at the Vitality Stadium.
- No goals in the first half of Liverpool v West Ham (3/1) – West Ham have shown an ability to dig their heels in and defend well in numbers against the Premier League’s best teams. Liverpool should win on Saturday but don’t be surprised if the Irons keep them at bay in the first half.
- Chelsea to beat Man United by one goal (15/4) – Chelsea were impressive against Barcelona on Tuesday night. As long as they keep the mistakes at bay, the Blues can capitalise on the tired legs in the Man United ranks by winning a tight encounter.
