The League Cup welcomes the teams who are playing in European competition this week and there are a number of really exciting ties. To benefit from all the action we’ve put together three accumulators with increasingly large odds for you to take advantage of.

- Manchester City to beat Sunderland (2/5) – Sunderland’s priorities have to be set on the Premier League. They are in big trouble at this early stage and could do without the distraction of a game against Man City in the League Cup.
- Southampton to beat MK Dons (4/5) – MK Dons beat Manchester United in the League Cup last season but in Southampton they’ll find a strong and well organised team who should have enough to progress with relative ease.
- Manchester United to beat Ipswich (3/10) – Louis van Gaal will surely get his first win in the League Cup against Ipswich. Mick McCarthy may have a talented team assembled but not quite strong enough to win at Old Trafford.

- Both teams to score in Leicester v West Ham (4/6) – Leicester have become a very strong attacking unit under Claudio Ranieri and while they should score against West Ham they’ll find it tough to stop the Irons from scoring as they are deadly on the counter attack.
- Newcastle to beat Sheffield Wednesday (4/5) – Newcastle have a chance to get that winning feeling back against Wednesday who have their own struggles in the Championship. St James’ Park won’t be packed but it will be a happy place at the end of this one.
- West Brom to beat Norwich (9/4) – The Baggies have been slightly disappointing in the league but they’ve a great chance to win against Norwich who will be concentrating all their efforts on making sure they remain a Premier League club come May. With all West Brom’s attacking players they should secure an away win.
Long Shot – 150/1 (Bet365)
- Birmingham to beat Aston Villa (4/1) – Aston Villa have a lot of work to do to blend in all their new signings. They could be in line for another tough season and against their fiercest rivals they’ll face a strong and motivated opposition and could suffer a humiliating and painful defeat.
- Tottenham to beat Arsenal (2/1) – Arsene Wenger has a history of playing the kids in this competition. If he does that against Arsenal’s north London rivals he runs the risk of being knocked out of the competition because Spurs will put out the strongest side possible to inflict a damaging defeat on their not so friendly neighbours.
- Swansea to beat Hull from behind (9/1) – Hull will be well up for this game as they get a chance to show that they can still compete with Premier League opposition. They will come out of the blocks fast but the longer the game goes on, the greater the influence of Swansea’s ball players will be and any lead Hull manage to get is likely to be erased.
