European football returns this week with match day three in both the Champions League and Europa League. - PSG to beat Basel (2/11) – PSG’s appointment of Unai Emery shows they are serious about winning the Champions League. Their campaign should carry on with another win at home to Basel.
- Bayern Munich to beat PSV (2/15) – Carlo Ancelotti is looking to do what Pep Guardiola couldn’t at Bayern: win the Champions League. There’s no doubt he’s got one of the best teams in Europe and they should pick up another win when they host PSV.
- Manchester United to beat Fenerbahce (1/2) – Jose Mourinho needs to use the Europa League as a way of boosting his team’s morale given their shaky form in the Premier League. That shouldn’t be too much trouble against Fenerbahce on Thursday night.

- Juventus to beat Lyon (7/10) – Lyon will be hoping to end a run of three defeats in a row against Italian sides on Tuesday. That won’t be easy against Juventus who have a good recent record against French sides and beat Dinamo Zagreb 4-0 last time out.
- Napoli to beat Besiktas and over 2.5 goals (5/6) – Napoli could become the first team ever to qualify for the Champions League group stage with three games still to go. That will motivate them to put Besiktas to the sword when they meet on Wednesday night. Expect Napoli’s attacking players to fill their boots at Stadio San Paolo.
- Standard to beat Panathinaikos (13/10) – Panathinaikos have not exactly enjoyed their previous visits to Belgium. It’s 720 minutes without a goal for the Greek side in Belgium. Moreover, Standard have won three of their four games against Panathinaikos so they look a very good bet at tempting odds of 13/10.
Long Shot – 109/1 (Bet365)
- Bayer Leverkusen to beat Tottenham and both teams to score (3/1) – Tottenham are absolutely flying in the Premier League but they’ve found the going tougher in Europe. It doesn’t get any easier when they take on Leverkusen at the BayArena. The Germans are not going to keep a clean sheet against Spurs but they should have enough to win their first game of the group stage.
- Celtic to beat Borussia Monchengladbach and both teams to score (4/1) – Brendan Rodgers has made a very positive start to life in Scotland. He’s got Celtic playing without fear in the Champions League and although they’ll struggle to keep a clean sheet against Monchengladbach, the Bhoys certainly have enough about them to claim a big win at Parkhead.
- Southampton to beat Inter Milan to nil (9/2) – Inter Milan go into their match against Southampton on a four match losing streak in Europe. The Italian giants may be the bookies’ favourites for Thursday’s game at San Siro but Southampton are looking very strong at the moment. They’ve got various options up front and a rock solid defence, so the Saints can extend Inter’s unwanted run.
